courage of our questions and by the depth of our answers.

Members Q&A

I have heard that people “create their own reality.”  Is that what you’re talking about here?  Doesn’t that just add to a person’s guilt?  After all, how can a person create a tornado or earthquake?
I think it depends on the “bad thing” and the applicable Reason for it to happen.  Yes, Karma is the result of the soul’s past action, so it is in some ways created directly by the soul.  Subconscious Sabotage is a result of the person’s thoughts and feelings, but is often not a conscious creation.  Lessons and tests may be part of the plan the soul agrees to before birth, or they might be situations that the universe creates to help us learn and grow.
Mass physical events like earthquakes and tornadoes may be caused by many things – but the important thing to ask yourself is “why was I affected?” and look for the Reason so you can prevent your being affected in the future!
In all cases, guilt is a useless emotion and will not fix the cause.  In fact, it is best to find the Reason within ourselves, forgive ourselves, and then, eventually thank ourselves for the opportunity to learn and grow.

I do not believe in reincarnation – I am a Christian! - and am upset that you refer to it in your book!  How can you believe in such blasphemy?
First of all, the Reasons in this book are still valid whether you believe in reincarnation or not.  Most faiths – especially Christianity – discuss karma, or cause-and-effect, and have sayings similar to “do not unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  The only difference is whether you believe your “payback” comes during and/or after this lifetime, or could perhaps come in another lifetime.
Second, I have read that two-thirds of the world believes in reincarnation, and one-third of Christians believe in it also. There are a lot of biblical scholars who say that Christ himself talked about reincarnation.  But it is a personal choice, and I respect your decision not to believe, just as I hope you respect my decision to believe.
Third, I would suggest that you decide for yourself if reincarnation is a possibility.  Certainly don’t take my word for it.  Look into the research with an open mind and you might reach the conclusion that I did – that reincarnation is the best and most meaningful explanation for the ways of life.

Tell me about your personal views on Reincarnation.  Do you think we can come back as animals?
I definitely believe in Reincarnation.  Personally, I have never met anyone who has researched it with an open mind who doesn’t believe in it.  As much as two-thirds of the world believes in some form of Reincarnation, and it makes the most logical sense to explain why things as they are.  Regarding transmigration of the soul – coming back as animals – I truly do not think that we come back as animals after being human.  I do think it is possible, even likely, that a “soul” may go through an evolutionary process from an amoeba through the animal kingdom, ending up as human.  (Unless there’s a higher form of life on this planet that I don’t know of!)

Do you believe there is a hierarchy in heaven? And if so, what do you think it is?  And why?
I struggle with this question sometimes.  I have read that there is a hierarchy of sorts – some souls more advanced than others – and it does make sense.  Certainly there a discernable difference between the level of awareness, or love, or compassion offered by humans on the planet – and this can certainly be extended to see that the souls of these individuals may be at different levels of development and learning.  I like the analogy of keys on a piano.  Some are higher and some are lower but all are needed to make music.

What do you think about life on other planets?
I like the quote from the movie/book Contact written by Carl Sagan: “f it is just us, it’s seems like an awful waste of space.”  One of the other thoughts I have on the subject is that it is interesting when we hear scientists qualify their view about life not being on other planets “as we know it.”  This phrase leaves a lot open.  We are still learning so much about ourselves and our own planet – as we open our minds to explore the potential within ourselves we will be open to understanding life outside ourselves.

I think it is likely that people of a certain level of development probably interact with each other (just like here) and we have access to learn from those more advanced from us.  As far as there being a more distinct hierarchy “up there”, it sounds to me too much like a corporate structure than a support system, which is the way I would expect (and want) it to be.

So, Brownell, what were the Reasons Why your business failed?
When I was knee-deep in the crisis, I initially looked at Karma, assuming it was the only reason why Bad Things happen, and it didn’t seem to fit.  Then a friend suggested that there would be a Reward, and I was too immersed in despair to be that optimistic.  Then one night the Five Reasons Why came to me and I understood all the potential explanations.  I could easily see the Lesson(s) involved and that I was being Tested.

When I started writing this book, it got clear to me that two of the other Five Reasons Why were also functioning.  First, I saw that Subconscious Sabotage was involved because whenr I hoped (and prayed) for my business to grow, I was subconsciously asking for someone else’s business to decline.  (I rationalized it – and still feel somewhat justified – because the food I offered was much higher quality and far healthier at a great price than most if not all of the competition.).

And I am experiencing the Reward for sure.  Even if no one reads this book but some of my friends and family, I have been blessed in immeasurable ways by writing it.  If it does reach the public and is able to help others reach a level of peace, a sense of control, and a life of less stress and more ease and Love, it will be  more than worth every ounce of pain and anguish I experienced.

Do you think the Earth is progressing spiritually?
Good question.  What do you think?  Honestly, I could see an argument for a spiritual regression, a continued balance or a progression.  I found optimism in David Hawkins' work, where he has a measurement demonstrating spiritual advancement.

What do you think about the prophesy of 2012?
I think it is up to us, and how we think about it.  If we fear the “end of the world” at a particular date and prophesize gloom and doom, then, we can bring it about through the collective unconscious affect of fear.  If we see the prophesy as a potential we can change with the right thoughts and actions (by passing the local, regional and global tests we are facing), then we may be able to prevent the outcome.  The whole purpose of 2012 or Revelations or any other prophesy of doom is to get our attention to the risk of failing the tests in front of us.

And, who knows?  Maybe some day someone will come to me and want to rebuild the business it was an awesome concept ahead of its time…) and it could flourish in the future when the world is ready.

Are you living in Integrated Alignment all the time now, or do you lapse from time to time?
I am far from perfect!  Yes, I lapse.  In fact just recently I went through a lot of challenges at once and had a difficult time coping.  Remember, I wrote this as my outside world was falling apart, and my “change in future direction” has been leading me down a lonely, dark and unfamiliar passageway.  This may sound really weird, but I wished I had “me” to talk with.  I was grateful that my relationship with my Inner Self is one that is loving and supportive, so at least I wasn’t blaming my Self.

But I had to process the emotions.  I located, isolated and separated the negative energies I was dealing with.  I cried – a lot.  I retreated into my cave.  I questioned, queried, and pleaded for answers that eluded me.  I prayed for guidance and to understand “why” this was happening to me.  It did make me realize again how challenging life can be.  I do hope I can help others with the messages “given” to me in this writing.
